Argyle is often thought of as a geeky fashion alternative, but it doesn’t have to be. These looks are casual and put together without being nerd fashion. Not that there’s anything wrong with nerd fashion but we’ll save that post for another day!
I adore this cute argyle polo crop from Nyte’N’Day. It’s sexy without being too in your face, and the prims at collar, cuffs, and waist give it a nice finished look. I paired it with simple brown cords to help pull out the pale pinks, but it comes in a set with a pair of lighter tan pants that are also wonderful. I kept the casual vibe here with pulled back hair and simple jewelry. I want the shirt with its wonderful feminine texture to be the focus.
What’s better than smooth bare legs? Encasing them in argyle tights! I added a denim mini that’s not too short and a casual sweater in a wonderful rich velour texture that just looks so soft you want to run your hands all over it. The tank gives a hint of color and coverage, keeping this look modest. I love these ankle boots from Indi Designs. They are incredibly versatile and the split ankle tops help to keep the leg looking long as the pattern of the tights peek through the sides. This is a great outfit when you want to look like you just threw something on as you were running out the door.
So not your office argyle. This very mini mini from Luck Inc. has a high waist that clings to the body and accentuates those curves. Pairing the skirt with tights and shoes in the same color makes the legs look like they go on forever. A simple shirt and jewelry in the same neutrals as the tights and skirt keeps the focus on the pattern of the very short skirt and all that leg…which is exactly where I want it!
